At 13 years old, while most people my age were sleeping, I was staying up until 3 a.m. mapping, filling and sculpting my own brows. I became obsessed with perfecting every detail—the clean lines, the symmetry, and the way a single adjustment could completely transform a face. What started as curiosity quickly became a passion, and eventually, a career. By 16, I was thrown into a salon with little training and real clients sitting in my chair. It was a steep learning curve, but it taught me one of the most valuable lessons of my career: technical skill matters, but connection matters more. Anyone can improve their technique with practice, but if you lose a client's trust, it's much harder to earn it back. While I was learning the art of brows, I was also learning how to build relationships, create loyalty and turn first-time appointments into long-term clients. I was thrown into the deep end, and I had to figure it out for myself. By 20, I realised I wasn't meant to follow someone else's version of success—I wanted to build my own. There was no handbook, no manager, no mentor and no safety net. Just belief, determination and an obsession with creating results that genuinely made a difference. I also learned something that completely changed the trajectory of my business: people connect with people. While many salons taught strict rules around keeping conversations professional and distant, I found that clients became loyal when they actually knew who was behind the business. The more genuine connection I created, the stronger my client relationships became. Within 18 months of opening Brow Cave, I had welcomed over 800 clients, built a multi-six-figure brow business from scratch and was booked weeks in advance. Clients weren't just recommending Brow Cave because they loved their brows—they were recommending the experience, the trust and the relationship behind it.
